If your country is not in the list above,please contact the peruvian embassy in your country for further instructions. 5.DO I NEED ANY KIND OF SHOTS TO GO TO PERU? Only if you are going to the amazon jungle.A Yellow Fever shot is a must. 6.IS IT SAFE TO EAT OUTSIDE AND IN ANY RESTAURANTS? Eat only in restaurants that are 3 stars and up. Avoid eating out of street vendors,unless is a sealed candy. 7.CAN I DRINK ANY WATER? * Only drink bottled water;it is available anywhere at a very low price ( aprox. 50 cents. a bottle). * It is safe to take a shower and brush your teeth with regular water. 8.IS THE SUN STRONGER AND HOTTER IN PERU? Peru is very close to the equator line so the Sun hits northern Peru almost in a 90 degree angle which means straight and Hot.We recomend you bring a thick sunblock and watch yourself the first couple of days untill you get the base tan.People has told us that going to the tanning booth prior to the trip has help them. 9.WHICH IS THE BEST SEASON FOR "SURFING" IN NORTHERN PERU? Most consistent from October through March.Although we have waves year long. 10.WHICH IS THE BEST SEASON FOR "SURFING" IN LIMA-PERU? All year long 11.DO I NEED A WETSUIT TO SURF IN PERU? Only for the winter months (june,july,august).With a spring suit or a full 3/2 mil for the colder Pirates is enough. Ocean temperature in Lima = 68-78 degrees F Ocean temperature in Northern Peru = 72-85 degrees F 12.ARE WE CLOSE TO ANY MEDICAL FACILITIES? *In the city of Lima there are several good big hospitals. *In northern Peru where our bungalows are: Emergency room in Mancora,20 minutes away from the hotel. Surgical complete hospital in Tumbes, 1 hour away from the hotel. 13.DO YOU RECOMEND ANY KIND OF INSURANCE? We always recomend travelers insurance for any trip around the world.There is a few available for very reasonable prices.Consult with your insurance company. 14.HOW ARE THE SEASONS IN PERU? Summer = January,february,march Winter = june,july,august 15.WHAT IS THE CURRENCY IN PERU? *The currency is the "nuevo sol". *The exchange is 3.45 soles per 1US Dollar. |
